originally from Oxfordshire, I found myself living in a new town (and county), going through a breakup (I’d moved to be closer to him) and without any close friends around me and no clue how to actually make them, especially considering i was self employed and had no colleagues either.

a bit of a ‘ah what am i doing?’ moment of posting in the local town’s facebook group (which you’ll see below) not only lead me to most amazing group of women (who’d i’d be entirely lost without), but also made me realise just how many women didn’t have ‘their girls’ around them. over 150 women reached out to me in total on that post.

i am an absolute empath, there’s no denying it, and so it constantly played on my mind for over a year that there were so many women that desperately wanted what i had found but didn’t know where to start or weren’t brave enough to put themselves out there. and so finally in January 2024 I decided it was time that I create the space for these women to find their people and ara was born.
